Knitting with Sandra

 Class description: What if--

• Every time you knit a sweater, it fit absolutely perfectly?
• You could use up your cache of yarn?
• You could see a sweater and make one just like it for yourself?
• You could be free of the bondage of confusing, complicated directions?

Skill level: You don’t need to be an expert knitter to start designing, but knowing how to knit and purl is essential.

Date & Time: Weekend Class – September 18,10am – 1pm;  Weekday Class – September 23,10am – 1pm. This is a two-session class. The first class is scheduled and the date of the second class will be determined by the participants and will be scheduled three to four weeks after the first one.  Space is limited.

Cost: $30 

Supplies needed:

1. 3-4 ounces of light color 4-ply knitting worsted-weight yarn; 1 ounce of 4- ply knitting worsted-weight in a contrasting color, your choice of fiber.
2. 16” circular needle in size #6, #7, or #8.  You will eventually need double pointed needles in the same size, if this helps you choose.
3. Calculator--the one on your phone will work
4. Textbook---Sweater Workshop, by Jacqueline Fee.

Skill Level: Beginning, must know knit and purl

Class Description:  Join Sandra in the first of a series of technique classes. The first class will show you different methods of casting on casting on and how to choose which cast-on technique will be most suitable for your project. The textbook will be an invaluable resource for the remaining Technique Classes and serve as your “go-to book” for years to come.

Dates & Time: Monday evening, 2 sessions, September 13 & 27, – 5pm-7pm

Skill Level: Intermediate

Class Description:  What bears absolutely NO resemblance to what it will finally be?  What knitted items are the most talked about and blogged about, yet surprisingly simple, using just the lowly garter stitch? In commemoration of Elizabeth Zimmermann’s 100th birthday year, Shelley will guide you through the maze of instructions for the Adult, Child or Baby Surprise Jacket and Sandra will instruct you in the beautifully simple and elegant Rib Warmer Vest.

Skill Level: Beginning, must know knit and purl

Class Description:  Learn to knit socks on 5 double points needles

Supplies needed:  Sock yarn of your choice, Set of double point needles in size needed to achieve gauge, yarn and needles purchased at time of the class.

Dates: Ongoing, Call Sandra to arrange for a time that is convenient for you.

Class Description:  This is a great technique to use for knitting socks.  You can even try both socks at once.  

Supplies Needed: 40" needles.  Yarn can be selected before class.  Talk with Sandra about your selection.
